Washington, IA (December 16, 2015) A new holiday tradition has started at the United Presbyterian Home in the Stewart Hall Lobby.  Jim Bennett and his wife Joy moved to the UP Home 4 years ago and ever since he has set up a sampling of trains for people of all ages to enjoy around the holidays.

Bennett says that in his era trains and a tree went hand in hand at Christmastime. Growing up he didn’t have any trains so when he became an adult it was something he wanted to do and has been collecting them for over fifty years. His collection started with a wind up train that was wound with a key and now he has had three collections.

“Every year I try to come up with a different display, I am never done tinkering with it,” said Bennett who loves sharing his hobby with others. “The adults enjoy it as much as the kids and having the train set up keeps me out of trouble.”

UP Home residents, family and friends enjoy seeing the train display every year. The kids from UP with Kids Day Care which is on campus at the UP Home also love to come watch the train daily during the month of December

The United Presbyterian Home and Bennett welcomes anyone to stop by and see the trains.  The train is located in the Stewart Hall Lobby at the United Presbyterian Home at 1203 East Washington Street. Bennett is in the lobby from 10:00 A.M. to 11:15 PM and from 2:30 PM – 4:00 PM every Monday, Wednesday and Friday if you want to see the trains in action.  If those times don’t work for you he is always willing to accommodate other times.
