Washington, IA (March 15, 2019) – Three UP Home residents have put together a program to retell the history of the United Presbyterian Home through pictures, a skit, interviews and music on Wednesday, March 20th at 2 PM in the Michael Moore Family Dining Room on campus.
UP Home residents Connie Bauer Crane, Dean Garrett and Julia Gamon have put together the program that consists of interviews from previous CEO’s Dick Colby and Mike Moore along with a skit from when the UP Home started in 1947. Over twenty residents are involved in the program.
“This is going to be a light hearted look at the past. We wanted to recognize the contributions of those who have made the UP Home such a great place to live.” said UP Home Resident Julia Gamon.
The United Presbyterian Home was founded in 1947 as one of four homes in Iowa sponsored by the Synod of Lakes and Prairies of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A) for retired men & women. The UP Home has grown from the original building known as Fulton Hall to a robust 35-acre campus that meets the needs of 225 residents and employs over 120 staff members.
Everyone is invited to attend the program and learn about the unique and rich history of the UP Home. After the Pageant, everyone is welcome to stay for refreshments and fellowship.
